The Byrna CL (Compact Launcher) is the latest evolution in less-lethal self-defense and Byrna’s most concealable handheld launcher to date. Engineered for maximum concealability without sacrificing power, the CL is 38% smaller than the Byrna SD and 44% smaller than the Byrna LE. Despite its palm-sized frame, it fires Byrna’s new .61 caliber round kinetic and chemical irritant projectiles at speeds up to 400 feet per second, delivering roughly 40% more kinetic energy than the Byrna SD and matching the stopping power of the much larger Byrna LE. With an effective range of 60 feet, the CL gives you the ability to engage threats from a safe distance.
Designed for discreet carry and rapid response, the Byrna CL features a no-snag profile, upgraded sights, and an optic-ready slide for mounting a red dot sight (sold separately). It also includes a loaded chamber indicator for quick visual confirmation of a chambered round. The CL operates without a manual safety, ensuring the fastest possible deployment in high-stress situations.
Like all Byrna launchers, the CL is powered by an 8-gram CO₂ cartridge using Byrna’s patented pull-pierce system, which keeps the cartridge sealed until the first trigger pull. This guarantees maximum pressure and readiness when you need it most.
The Byrna CL kit includes everything you need to train and defend—CO₂, spare mags, and a mix of inert and kinetic projectiles—packaged in a durable hard case. The Byrna CL is not classified as a firearm, meaning it requires no permit or background check to own. Because this kit does not include chemical irritants, it is legal in all 50 states, including California and New York.
